The aim of the Midlands Simulation Group is to facilitate collaboration and research - wherever collaborators are.

There are many collaboration technologies around but we have chosen to focus on those that are standards based and easy to access
We have chosen video systems that allows multiple parties to be in a meeting or training event - even connecting with legacy H323 type video (Tandberg or Polycom or PC based) or, possibly from a mobile phone (or PC), SIP based connections; as a way of being inclusive and allowing outreach to a large community. On demand video allows on-demand meetings - allowing quick resolution of issues (such as training or helpline) or problems, as well as other sorts of collaborative meetings or training.
Shared desktop facilities allow shared, and secure, views of numerical simulations - important for shared understanding of complex models. Multiple parties can be invited and connect via a simple web-page connection.
