Professor
Richard
Hall
is the director of the Midlands Simulation Group
and has specific expertise in the area of Finite
Element
Analysis
(FEA)
of
materials
deformation
and failure; and, the
design optimisation of both tools and products.
He is also Chief Editor and copyright owner of the International
Journal of Engineering Simulation (IntJES.co.uk)
Julian
Spence
is the Senior Research Fellow of the Midlands Simulation Group
and has specific expertise developing methods for FEA - both for design
and manufacture.
His current work is focused on the manufacturing of cellular materials
with hierarchical structure - for both lightweighting and ballistic
performance. He also has set up and manages the HPC Beowulf cluster for
FEA modeling and CFD, using the parallelised numerical software and the
advanced eScience video and remote collaboration systems.
Other work focuses on the development of cellular vacuum
insulation and the superplastic forming and diffusion bonding
manufacturing processes.
Nwabueze
Emekwuru
is the Research Fellow of the Midlands Simulation Group
and has experience modeling and simulating fluid flow (CFD). He has
developed his expertise to include the inclusion of heat transfer and
the design of advanced heat exchangers.
Other work focuses on the design of microfluidic self pumping materials
and the integration of wind turbines into the built environment.
In addition he is assisting in the development of research projects and
manages the review process of the International
Journal of Engineering Simulation (IntJES.co.uk) .
Abdul
Noibi
is a researcher in the Midlands Simulation Group with expertise in FEA
and the multi-body kinematic simulations and animations (using the
ADAMS software). These he has applied to a variety of light weight
structures - from cement lorries to saddles; employing laminate
composite technologies.
